Ubuntu in VPS Servers
We supply Ubuntu with all our VPS hosting service and based on what system requirements your web apps have, you will be able to choose the 32-bit or the 64-bit release of the OS with only a couple of clicks throughout the registration process. When you obtain your server without a web hosting Control Panel, the only piece of software which will be installed on top of Ubuntu will be the Apache web server software, which means that you'll be able to use a console in order to access the hosting server and to create a software environment of your choice. If you get your server with the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, you'll have a web interface with which you can control almost everything as easily as you control a regular shared account and all of the necessary MySQL, FTP and e-mail server software are pre-installed, yet the root access to your server is restricted. If you do not have much experience, or if you don't want to waste time on VPS administration procedures, you will be able to reap the benefits of our Managed Services upgrade, which features weekly Ubuntu Operating System updates.
Ubuntu in Dedicated Servers
Ubuntu is one of the Operating System options which you will find on our order page if you decide to get one of our Linux dedicated service. We'll install the 32-bit or the 64-bit release, to match the system requirements of the applications which you wish to install on the server. You can also choose the software which will operate on your machine, since we will install only the Apache web server software, so everything else can be tailor-made software of your liking. You can install the latter without any problems from a Secure Shell console, because you'll have root-level access and you will get full control over your server. You are free to set up a website hosting Control Panel as well and control some things using a graphical interface, as long as it can run on an Ubuntu-driven machine. To make things simpler for you, we also offer a Managed Services upgrade, that, among other things, features Operating System updates.
